2002-07-30 - Rudyard vs Shane I've been listening to the Pogues and reading Kipling lately. It's an amusing cognitive dissonance. One one side, you have Kipling writing about the nobility of fighting the evil Hun and the importance of defending the British Empire (which he identified with civilization in general). On the other side, the Pogues, who sang "let English men fight English wars, it's nearly time they started." Whomp.
